Doris Zinkeisen

Painter, stage-set and costume designer, writer and noted horsewoman, and member of the the Pytchley Hunt. Studied at the Royal Academy Schools, had a life-long association with the theatre, and designed murals for the liner Queen Mary. She was the first artist to enter Belsen concentration camp. Probably best known for her stylish paintings of horses and carriages in period settings.
